Hong Kong , 2 June, 2007 – Hong Kong ’s only international-sized ice rink at MegaBox proudly presents “ The 2007 World Ice Hockey 5’s – Hong Kong ”. This tournament, Asia ’s largest ice hockey tournament, will be held from June 11 – 17, 2007 , organized by Asiasports Limited . 

The World Ice Hockey 5’s originally started in 1994 in Hong Kong. The tournament then moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006. The 2007 event will return home to Hong Kong.

 “The 2007 World Ice Hockey 5’s – Hong Kong” will have 63 teams of 1,100 players (men, women and youth) from 17 countries include Hong Kong, Macau, China, Austria, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Korea, Russia, England, Malaysia, Finland, Canada, United Arabs Emirates, Singapore, the Philippines and others.

Mr Keith Fong, tournament director said, “We received an enthusiastic response this year with over 1,100 players expected to participate in the tournament.  We believe that this tournament will offer great exposure to the game of ice hockey in Hong Kong and inspire many Hong Kong youth to join this wonderful sport. “
